Thoresen’s work draws upon Sámi design traditions emphasizing improvisation and the re-purposing of existing materials. The artist, who is based in Kirkenes in northern Norway, will create a new installation in one of the museum’s largest galleries, bringing innovative material and a conceptual approach to this special show.
