The 10th Triennial of Contemporary Slovenian Art, this exhibition presents an overview of artworks created over the last five years as part of the Slovenian art scene.
Foreign nativity scenes became widespread in Slovenia, and several local artists painted nativity scenes of paper cribs on printed sheets with cut-out figures, which was popular as a cheaper option than wood carvings. Slovenian artist France Gorše also painted paper nativity scenes of note for their authentic Slovenian scene with a snow-covered stable and native costumes.
The Museum of Arts and Crafts is the oldest and largest art museum in Croatia. A selection of fifty of their most significant paintings will be presented here, demonstrating the diversity and importance of the artistic and cultural heritage preserved in the collection. Artists shown include Vittore Carpaccio, Bartolomeo Vivarini, Guido Reni, Valentin Metzinger, Anton Cebej, José de Ribera, and an exceptional work by one of Rembrandt's few pupils, Jan Victors.
