This exhibition does not deal with the science-fiction possibility of time travel, but examines the relationship between time and art from various perspectives, and considers the works themselves as time machines that allow us to time-travel within our minds.
This exhibition, featuring the oeuvre of two prominent figures of 20th-century Hungarian art, Sándor Galimberti and his second wife, Valéria Dénes, ranges from plein air naturalism through Secession and Fauvism to cubism and even futurism. Much of the couples' work is missing, and this exhibit puts together a coherent curation of the known work that has survived.
Featuring Nemses' project shown at the Biennale Arte 2024 as well as a selection of his works from the last decade, this exhibit highlights the expansion of the genre of painting.
In celebration of its 35th anniversary, the museum is showing a selection of work from its permanent collection exclusively by women. The first section of the two-part exhibition focuses on women’s roles and women’s (self-)representation in art, while the second section presents the genres and themes chosen by women, as well as their artistic achievements and accomplishments over the past fifty years.
